Origin: Kagoshima Prefecture
Matcha Powder is a special form of finely powdered green tea from Japan and is used in their traditional tea ceremony. The leaves are shade – covered and specially processed, giving matcha higher level of chlorophyll, antioxidants, (including EGCg), and theanine than regular green tea. It is used to boost energy and concentration, aid detoxification and weight loss, boost metabolism, calm the mind, relax the body and enhance mood.
Preparation
- Sift: Sift 1-2 tsp (2-4g) of Matcha into a bowl
- Add Water: Pour 60-90ml of hot water (80°C/175°F).
Avoid boiling water. - Whisk: Whisk vigorously in an “M” or “W” motion until frothy.
- Enjoy: Sip as is or blend with milk for a creamy latte. Optional: sweeten to taste.
