Iceland Moss Flakes
Traditionally, Iceland moss was considered a galactagogue and to have a strong antibiotic, antiemetic, demulcent and nutritive properties. Understood to have both a bitter tonic action and a demulcent effect within the gut, these complementary actions earned it a revered place in traditional Chinese medicine. It was also an ancient herbal cough remedy, thanks to its soothing effect on mucous membranes in the respiratory system. Iceland moss has been used since ancient times as a cough remedy.
Preparation
1 tsp / cup, steep covered 10 minutes. Drink as needed.
