True Lavender Essential Oil has long been known for its repairing properties. Soothing to the skin, True Lavender essential oil is traditionally used in the treatment of sensitive or problem skin. Its calming and relaxing properties allow the essential oil of True Lavender to be used in diffusion to provide serenity and well-being.
Mainly used in cutaneous use and in diffusion, Lavender essential oil is the reference for the management of damaged skin problems or difficult healing. Indispensable in the first aid kit, it also has calming effects on the nervous system and muscle relaxants, traditionally recommended in cases of headaches, stress or muscular tension.
Lavender remains the most well-known and most widely used essential oil. The Romans already took advantage of the aromatic qualities of Lavender to perfume their clothes and baths. Its name is derived from the Latin “lavare”, meaning “to wash”. The term “washerwoman” comes from the fact that Lavender was added to the washing water in order to perfume clothes. In the Middle Ages, its disinfectant properties were used in fumigation. At the beginning of the 20th century, René-Maurice Gattefossé, a perfumer-chemist, who had burnt his hands in an explosion in his laboratory, prevented gangrene from setting in by immersing them in a container containing Lavender essential oil.
In French hospitals, essential oils, including that of Lavender, have long been used to clean and purify the air, which was reputed to help in the fight against microbial and fungal infections. Its many indications and its great gentleness make the essential oil of Organic True Lavender of Bulgaria one of the jewels of modern aromatherapy. It is also used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine to relieve depressive states and by Tibetan Buddhist doctors to treat certain mental disorders.
