Slippery Elm
Slippery Elm soothes irritated mucous membranes in the lining of the respiratory tract, stomach and digestive system, making it ideal for stomach ulcers, enteritis, colitis, sore throat, etc. Slippery Elm is traditionally mixed with honey and a little water to soothe sore and irritated throats and is applied topically to skin sores to reduce inflammation. A gruel made from the herb is excellent for convalescing patients who are struggling to eat.
Preparation
Mix 1-2 tsp with a little water to form a paste, then add more hot water. Drink 3 times daily.
