Tulsi
Tulsi, also called Holy Basil, has long been a highly revered herb in India. It is used for sharpening the mind, improving concentration and reducing mental fatigue, indigestion, diarrhoea, coughs, colds, fevers, headaches, low libido, bronchitis, skin diseases as well as detoxification from cannabis. It is also considered a preventative against epidemics such as cholera, infuenza and malaria. Tulsi is now classed as an adaptogen, a herb which improves resistance to stress, tension and anxiety. It also has a normalising influence on blood pressure and blood sugar.
Rama Tulsi is the most common variety, known for its cooling and mellow flavour.
